GENERAL INFORMATION

SOLL Leisure is a registered charity that manages wet and dry leisure facilities in Oxfordshire. As a not for profit organisation and Charitable Trust any profits are re-invested into the service.

JOB PURPOSE

To deliver and maintain high standards in the service of food and beverage to customers in the bar area.

Responsibilities:

Assist the Manager in the development and marketing of a quality service that strives to meet SOLL’s strategic objectives. A service that is customer orientated with an emphasis on the efficient and effective use of resources.

  • Promote and adhere to the Company vision and values.
  • Ensure company brands and promotions are delivered in a timely and efficient way
  • Mandatory requirement to attend all meetings to progress the development of Health & Safety, Sales Initiatives and People Training and Development as appropriate
  • To maintain a high level of service for both the bar and catering facility to the general public and other user groups.
  • To ensure that all display shelves and cupboards are fully stocked.
  • To maintain good relations and promote a pleasant atmosphere to all users.
  • To be responsible for the operation and cashing up of the bar till, ensuring that all monies are handled in accordance with Soll auditing procedures.
  • To ensure that all food preparation is carried out in accordance with Environmental Health guidelines.
  • To ensure that all cleaning duties are carried out in accordance with the cleaning rota.
  • Undertake any other duties as reasonably required.

The post may involve working alone and unsupervised. Senior staff will always be present in the Leisure Centre itself.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential Requirements

  • Proactive and pleasant attitude
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Flexible working arrangements
  • Strong interpersonal skills

Desirable Requirements

  • Cashing up and banking experience
  • Experience of working in a bar environment
  • Food Hygiene Qualification
  • Bar Steward Qualification
  • Placing orders, stocktaking, and stock rotation experience
  • COSHH trained
  • Manual Handling qualification

SOLL Leisure, therefore, requires candidates to divulge whether they have had a conviction for an offence. It will depend upon the nature of the offence, whether the conviction will affect your possible appointment to the staff of SOLL Leisure. SOLL Leisure confirms, however, that it is not their intention to discriminate against offenders in making appointments and offences will only be taken into account where the nature of the offence is deemed to be a material factor when selecting an appointee.

Nevertheless, failure to disclose a material offence which subsequently comes to light, may, depending upon the overall circumstances, be regarded as gross misconduct and be liable to lead to instant dismissal.
