Wantage Gym Extension Complete . . .
The Gym Extension has now been completed with fabulous results. Giving customers a contemporary and exciting environment to exercise in.
The £30,000 work, which was carried out by the Vale of White Horse District Council, has seen the gym extended by a third to make room for the introduction of a new free weights area.
The extension and new equipment is already attracting new users to the leisure centre off Portway opposite Wantage Civic Hall.
As well as the extended gym facilities on offer, the centre also includes: a 25 metre indoor swimming pool, sauna, sports hall, gymnastics equipment, squash and tennis courts, and two aerobics studios.
The centre is open from 6.30am -10.30pm Monday to Friday, from 7am - 6pm on Saturday and from 8am - 10pm on Sunday.
Wantage Leisure Centre is managed on behalf of the Vale Council by SOLL (Vale) Limited, a not-for-profit charitable trust.
The project was funded by Section 106 money acquired by the Vale Council from the former St Mary’s School housing development, which was specifically designated to be used for work at Wantage Leisure Centre.
